Today, I took a brief recess from my "Spirituality of Ministry" class to celebrate Michaela's graduation from Brookside Elementary School. We both had bittersweet feelings about the end of our family's time at this wonderful school. I am so thankful for the many wonderful teachers our girls have had and for the ways in which their lives have been blessed by them beyond the lessons learned in the classroom.
As Dad, I can hardly believe that all our girls are now "youth group age," which means we're saying farewell to children's ministry (sniffle). I feel the same sort of gratitude for Penny White's leadership of this ministry area and for so many who have generously and graciously loved on our girls, teaching and modeling the Christian faith for them.
We're proud of our graduate!
Andy,
ReplyDeleteLove reading about all you are doing and thinking about. I cut and pasted your thoughts from your classes - in a new file (and folder) entitled "Lessons from Andy." In just a quick review I saw (and felt) some much needed words and things to ponder. Thank you.
And, wow, what a day to check in - thank you for your kind words about Children's Ministry. It is bittersweet for me too as Michaela moves to the Youth Group. She has been such a delight and so spunky! I look forward to continuing to watch and pray as she grows and matures. I'm looking forward to using your photos and commentary in our children's bible classes - how exciting to have photos of places our children will be studying with you in them....a wonderful way to bring their thoughts forward to embrace that God's promises and plans are for them too.
Continued blessings to you - Penny
